the Charity Experiment - coming soon...
The Charity Experiment is a new Charity Fund Raising scheme that allows an individual to raise funds for a charity close to their heart without having to run a marathon or jump out of a plane.
I wanted to create a community focused fund raising scheme which has the following goals:
- Efficient. Is operated in a streamlined and cost effective way and makes use of tax incentives (Giftaid) to maximise donations. We want 100%+ of the money donated to go to charity.
- Accessible. You don’t have to run a marathon or jump out of a plane to be proactive in raising money for good causes.
- Targeted . Targets people who can afford to donate yet often do not choose to. We want to target UK income earners who own a credit/debit card and who qualify for Giftaid.
- Independent . We are not affiliated with any charity. Any money raised can be donated to any UK registered charity, large or small. It is up to the individual to decide.
- Rewarding . Involvement rewards you for your effort. This is not financial reward but an emotional reward. The more effort you put into the experiment, the more funds you generate for the charity(s) of your choice!
- Visible . We want to run the experiment as a social experiment – providing open and concise information on how much is raised; which charities are benefiting; and also allow people to see just how much of an impact they make.
- Simple. We have structured the project so that donations are small and one-off. It is all about volume of donations not massive individual donations.
- Community Focused . We want to create a feeling of community. It is up to the individual to decide where the money they raise is donated and we hope that it will be the smaller, local and community based charities that will benefit the most.
